About us

MedSCi Club is a student-led forum dedicated to making healthcare knowledge more accessible, relevant, and engaging for our community.  Our mission is to bridge the gap between complex medical science and everyday understanding. Through our Instagram platform and website, we publish weekly blogs/reports exploring topics across health, wellbeing, medicine, and scientific innovation. From breaking down emerging medical research to raising awareness about public health issues, our content is designed to inform, empower, and inspire.

Meet our founders

Chidchaya Wankaew

Hi, I’m Chi, one of the founders of MedSCi Club. I am passionate about health science and plan to study medicine at university. I enjoy both sharing what I learn and supporting others through service work and projects. Outside of school, I have been involved in a research project on skeletal muscle tissue engineering and am doing an EPQ on the application of CRISPR-Cas9 in cancer treatment, as well as shadowing at hospitals and attending medical missions with Operation Smile.

I also mentor peers, tutor biology and chemistry to help fundraise for Operation Smile, and run the Science Experiment Club as school. These experiences have shaped my curiosity and drive to explore the intersection of science, healthcare, and community impact.

Si Eun Lee

Hi my name is Si Eun, and I am one of the founders of MedSCi Club. I hope to study biology and chemistry at university, with a particular interest in how these subjects connect to health and medicine. I’ve always enjoyed exploring scientific concepts beyond the classroom, especially understanding how these concepts are applied to real world situations. I am also passionate about sharing these ideas not just with my peers, but with a wider community in a way that is clear and approachable.

Through running the Science Experiment Club and volunteering in healthcare, including with Operation Smile, I’ve been able to explore scientific ideas more practically and see their real life impact beyond just theory. These experiences have helped me develop a more critical and curious approach to science and have shown me how important it is to make knowledge accessible, as even simple concepts can have a meaningful impact on health.

Run by two high school students, both currently in year 12 and studying A levels in Biology, chemistry, mathematics, further mathematics. Our previous experiences include running a school club called Science Experiment Club where we lead others peers in conducting scientific research (experiment design, practical process, data analysis, results discussion), and also being members of the school science magazine. So, we decided to transform our research into our very own initiative.
